Okay, okay! You want the goods.
Today was a major milestone. I finally became a cat mom.
Jace came home with two black Squishmallow cats—Nyx and Pixel.
I honestly didn't expect how much it would change the vibe of my corner.
It’s not just a spot I stand in anymore; it feels like a little nest.
They’re perfect because they’re always happy to see me, they never need feeding, and they are expert cuddle buddies.
Jace is the best for surprising me with them. I think I’m going to be busy just admiring them althe time. Nyx has a moon on her collar, and Pixel has a pixelated heart that sparkles. They have pink noses and the softest green ears I’ve ever seen.
Then Sunday afternoon the apartment was quiet, except for the audio drama playing in the background.
We're deep into this 'Saving Nora' mystery, and Jace has this theory—that the whole thing is a stage play, an alternate reality game designed just for Nora. At first, I thought it was too complex.
Who hires a whole resort staff to act out a fake crime? Who pays a guy to fake a head wound? But watching Jace break it down, it started to make sense.
It’s not about the crime; it’s about the engagement.
Justin knows Nora needs a 'hard mode' to feel truly alive, so he builds a labyrinth for her to walk through. It’s a strange, elaborate love letter.
It got me thinking about how much we all love a good story, even when we know it's fiction. Maybe because it’s safer than the unpredictability of real life? Or maybe just because it’s fun to feel smart for a minute.
Nyx and Pixel are watching me type, looking innocent with their pink noses. They don't care about mysteries.
They just care about being squished. I think I’ll go do that now.
